Hi, I’m kate drew.
With over 20 years of experience working with individuals, youth and families, I have confidence in people’s inner strength and resilience as they navigate life‘s challenges. For those clients who feel stuck, change is possible.
In a secure, trusting RCC relationship, I support my clients to step into their role at the centre of their lives. Together, we skillfully unravel life‘s complexities and facilitate the perspective shifts and beliefs that promote healing, health, and vitality.
True to my North Shore roots, I feel most at home cycling and hiking in the forest trails. Having brought up my boys in the Sea to Sky corridor, I now reside in North Vancouver where I work as a school and private clinical counsellor. Having two teenage boys of my own, I relish the intensity, excitement and turmoil inherent to this challenging stage of life. I deeply appreciate - and do not take for granted - the trust that teens place in me.
With this in mind, I am pleased to offer youth and families struggling with addiction non-judgmental and effective support. Through personal and professional experience, I understand the complexities of addiction and the need for specialized treatment based on the latest science. For youth struggling with addiction, effective family support is at the heart of the recovery process. Compassion and boundaries need not be mutually exclusive. In fact, they are both key to the recovery process. Recovery from addiction is a difficult, but not impossible, journey made all the more possible with timely and effective support.
